Mickey Lee’s HOH reign was nothing if not eventful, and it all culminated Thursday night with Jimmy Heagerty packing his bags in a 9-2 vote against Kelley Jorgensen. On paper, everything went as planned, Mickey’s plan, at least. But was it really a good plan? That’s a debate for another day, though it seems like only Mickey and her BFF Morgan Pope are team “yes” on that one. To make matters worse, Jimmy told Julie Chen Moonves during his exit interview that he had every intention of staying loyal to the “Triple Threat” alliance — aka himself, Mickey, and Morgan until the very end. Whoops.
In targeting Jimmy, Mickey used her HOH to send home one of her closest allies while alienating Rachel Reilly, Ashley Hollis, and Will Williams, not to mention majorly shaking the trust with Rylie Jeffries, whose HOH she overturned at the top of the week. While Mickey may be hoping her decision earns her favour with Vince Panaro and Zach Collins, that’s a. risky gamble with two players as strategically savvy as they are. Will they take her generosity and cut ties the moment it suits Rylie? Meanwhile, is unlikely to forget sitting on the block thanks to Mickey’s meddling, and his maybe-showmance partner, Katherine Woodman, could take it personally, too.
By the end of Thursday’s episode, Mickey seemed fixated on uncovering the identity of the mysterious second vote to keep Jimmy (it was Ashley, in an iconic “I didn’t mean it” moment with Julie). Not to minimise the curiosity, but she might be overlooking bigger concerns — like the alliances she just fractured or how her game plan might come back to bite her. Mickey definitely rolled the dice this week, but only time will tell if she played herself in the process.
