Big Brother 28 hopeful Levi Banks will no longer be on this season of the CBS series, with alternate Yash Patel stepping in just days before the show’s premiere.

A production source claimed: “Levi did the full casting process, including his contestant portrait and sequestering.

“After everything, he was pulled from the season at basically the very last second. Yash was an alternate and replaced Levi.”

The abrupt switch came after Levi had already been photographed for promotional materials and even sequestered in Los Angeles ahead of moving into the famous Big Brother house.

Levi’s picture was briefly spotted on the show’s website before it was deleted.

While the network has not publicly commented on the casting shake-up, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that Yash’s promotional rollout looked different from the rest of the cast, fueling speculation that he had joined the game late.

Now back home in North Carolina, Levi said he’ll be watching Season 28 from the comfort of his couch instead of inside the Big Brother house. He thanked fans for their support and even gave a shout-out to Yash Patel, who has been widely reported as the alternate houseguest who replaced him before the season began. CBS has confirmed that Levi voluntarily withdrew but has not officially identified his replacement.

Levi’s explanation comes after days of speculation online about why he disappeared from the cast shortly before the premiere. While Levi maintains the decision was his own, other media reports have suggested there may have been behind-the-scenes issues surrounding his departure. Neither Levi nor CBS has publicly confirmed those reports.
