Mickey Lee’s Big Brother journey came to an end after she was evicted by a 6-1 vote over Ashley Hollis during Thursday night’s episode of Big Brother 27. Her eviction came after Head of Household Keanu Soto placed her on the block.
Despite the disappointment, Mickey said she is leaving the game with pride. “I’m feeling as confident as ever,” she told Gold Derby. “I went into that house by myself and had to finagle and figure out all these things while being disconnected from everything that I’ve known and loved for my entire life. For a first-time player who didn’t have heavy study books to know what to do in this game, I think I did fairly decent. For that, I am proud.”
Noticing the Shift
Mickey admitted she sensed her game slipping a week or two before her eviction, but chose not to push too hard. “I didn’t do a lot of investigating,” she said. “I was going to just let fate take its course. I heard a few extra whispers and figured something was brewing, but I didn’t know what. I anticipated being evicted first into jury, but I think I prefer it this way. I get to go out and live my life a little bit before coming back for the finale.”
She later learned about the secret Judges alliance — comprised of Ashley, Morgan Pope, Vince Panaro, Rachel Reilly, and Will Williams — only after leaving the house. Looking back, she said winning the Blockbuster competition could have shifted the balance.
On Throwing Competitions and Big Moves
Mickey also addressed speculation that she threw the Blockbuster competition to Vince. “That was supposed to be the goal because I didn’t want to vote out Ashley,” she explained. “I can’t say I threw it, but did I go as hard as I normally would? No, I didn’t. I let up just a little bit, but I tried.”
As for Keanu putting her on the block, Mickey said she wasn’t surprised. “Keanu has been trying to get me and Morgan out since Week 2,” she said. “He definitely had a great HOH. I was someone who could have won my way through a few more weeks. Getting me out was a good move for him.”
One of Mickey’s most controversial moves came earlier in Week 4, when she stole Rylie’s HOH and ultimately backdoored Jimmy Heagerty. She admitted Jimmy was both an ally and a source of problems. “Jimmy was at the centre of most of my feuds, and a lot of people who wanted to put me on the block were influenced by him,” she said. “I trusted him to a certain extent, but his actions didn’t match his words. Looking back, if I had changed anything, I would have talked to Jimmy a little bit more.”
Losing Control and Social Strain
Once seen as a frontrunner, Mickey said she started to lose her grip around Week 5. “My social battery started dying very quickly,” she admitted. “I wasn’t giving it my all regarding those conversations I needed to have. I couldn’t connect with people. I felt like I was on an island by myself.”
She also believes winning HOH ultimately hurt her game. “Honestly, yes,” she said when asked if she would have been better off without it.
Had she stayed, her Week 9 plan would have been to target Keanu, Kelley, or Rachel.
Relationship With Rachel Reilly
Mickey opened up about her rocky dynamic with returning winner Rachel Reilly. “At first, I respected her and wanted her on the jury,” she said. “But I noticed that the only time Rachel liked me was when I was praising her. When I had any moments of shine for myself, that’s when she wasn’t a fan. I don’t kiss butt, and I don’t cower, so that caused tension. There were a lot of things she said or did that were not very nice.”
On Morgan, Vince, and the “Hugmance”
Early in the season, Mickey and Morgan appeared to be a duo, but in recent weeks, Morgan has been seen getting closer to Vince, with their now-notorious long hugs. Mickey acknowledged the shift. “Whatever it is they’re trying to do or figuring out, I can see it’s very solid,” she said.
Losing Morgan as a partner, she added, was a turning point. “There are a lot of people in this game playing for Vince,” she said. “I don’t think Morgan was ever truly for me. She saw greatness in me and tried to attach herself to it. She had hopes of me carrying her until I couldn’t anymore. I was disposable.”
Who She Thinks Could Win
Looking at the players still in the game, Mickey said Will Williams has the best chance. “He is under the radar and no one’s looking at him,” she said. “I think he’s going to turn it up a notch.”
As for who she personally wants to win, Mickey said, “I would be OK with Will winning, for sure. At this point? Maybe even Kelley. Underdogs!”
And when asked how she would have played had she survived the night, Mickey summed it up in one word: “Savage.”
