Big Brother 27 is here, and yet again, it’s time to expect the unexpected. CBS is renewing Big Brother for season 27 on Thursday, July 10.
As “Big Brother” celebrates 25 years on the air, Season 27 will return to CBS with a 90-minute premiere on Thursday, July 10 starting 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by a 90-minute Sunday episode on July 13.
Additionally, this season will launch a segment called “Big Brother: Unlocked.” Beginning July 25, three players from previous seasons will return every other Friday to analyze gameplay and give their insider perspective. An official synopsis also teases that “Unlocked” will bring “never-before-seen broadcast footage from the house, exclusive interviews, surprise guest appearances and unprecedented behind-the-scenes access.”
Julie Chen Moonves, who has been part of the show since Season 1, returns to host as a group of all-new houseguests move into the “Big Brother” house and get completely cut off from the outside world. The show is no stranger to big twists, with Season 26 featuring an AI-themed challenge that forced the Head of Household to nominate three people for eviction, instead of the regular two.
Following premiere week, Season 27 episodes will air Thursdays from 8-9 p.m. and Sundays from 8-9 p.m., with special 90-minute Wednesday episodes airing 8-9:30 p.m. Beginning July 25, “Big Brother: Unlocked” will air 8-9 p.m. every other Friday until Sept. 26. The returning players have yet to be announced.
