The Big Brother 27 week 5 Power of Veto ceremony has taken place, with a shocking decision made by one of the houseguests. Big Brother 27 week 5 Head of Household (HOH) Ava Pearl nominated Keanu Soto, Vince Panaro, and Zach Cornell for eviction. Then, Katherine Woodman won the Power of Veto, which was her first competition win.
The Big Brother 27 live feeds have revealed that Katherine didn’t use the Power of Veto to save Keanu, Vince, or Zach from eviction. However, shockingly, Zach didn’t use his $10,000 to save himself from the chopping block either. During Big Brother 27’s premiere night, Zach won $10,000 by rescuing host Julie Chen Moonves from the Mastermind.
Zach was later told that, until Jury, he could use the $10,000 to buy his safety if he was on the chopping block at the end of the Power of Veto ceremony if he felt that his game was in jeopardy. The HOH would be forced to take the $10,000 and name a replacement nominee, and could not stop him from doing it. If Zach didn’t use the $10,000, then he could keep it.

If someone was saved with the Power of Veto, then Ava was planning to name Morgan Pope as the replacement nominee.
Although, surprisingly, Zach didn’t use his $10,000 to buy his safety, he must be very confident that he has the votes to stay. He could also win the BB Blockbuster competition and earn his safety himself, but it’ll be challenging versus Keanu, who’s a competition beast. However, Zach is probably thinking that there are a few more weeks until Jury, and if he saves his power, then he’ll be guaranteed to make it even further in the game because he can use it later.
In Zach’s favour, both Keanu and Vince have been in the spotlight lately, as the Big Brother 27 houseguests don’t trust them. Keanu has been public enemy number one for weeks, but he’s continuously saved himself with the Power of Veto, while Vince’s multiple deals and alliances have been coming to light.
Although Keanu and Vince seem to be bigger targets than Zach, Zach didn’t seem sure that he had enough votes to stay before the Power of Veto ceremony, so, shockingly, he didn’t use his power to save himself. It’ll be interesting to see what he has to say about it in his Diary Room sessions on the CBS episode.
