In a Big Brother Instagram reel, Show host Julie Chen Moonves revealed that the BB A.I. Arena, which made its debut in Big Brother 26 thrilling audiences, will return for season 27. Yes, Big Brother 27 is bringing back the fan-favorite twist—now rebranded as the BB Blockbuster.
This twist ups the game by nominating three houseguests weekly instead of the usual two. On eviction night, the trio faces off in a live challenge, with the winner pulling themselves off the block. This unpredictable twist injects more drama, surprise shakeups and strategy into the game, earning its place in this new season.
Additionally, CBS also announced some new features for the upcoming season 27, including the addition of a Friday night installment of the show, Big Brother: Unlocked, in which three all-stars of the game will give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the season. After calling Big Brother 27 “the biggest season yet,” walking fans through the house, which has been transformed into Hotel Mystère, and teasing the 16 new houseguests and Mystery Player, Julie made the big announcement.
Julie stated, “This group of houseguests won’t have a clue what we’re throwing at them. Last year’s BB AI Arena was so successful, we are bringing it back. You’ll never know who’s going home because houseguests will have a last-minute chance to take themselves off the block with the BB Blockbuster.“
What Return Of AI Arena Means For Big Brother 27
During Big Brother 26, the AI Arena turned the game on its head, making it impossible to backdoor houseguests because they’d always have a chance to save themselves at the last minute. In addition, it made the live evictions much more unpredictable because the houseguests didn’t know who the final two nominees were until literally minutes before the vote.
In previous seasons of Big Brother, the first few evictions were predictable and boring because the houseguests usually voted someone out unanimously to avoid putting themselves in the spotlight. However, the AI Arena made it much harder for them to do that, and therefore kept fans on the edges of their seats every Thursday night.
Also, the live competitions were thrilling to watch. Many Big Brother fans watch the live feeds and know the results of competitions before they air on CBS, but the AI Arena happened in real time, which made for some jaw-dropping moments.
Well, Hope everyone is so happy to hear that the AI Arena, which is now being rebranded as the BB Blockbuster, is returning for Big Brother 27. It breathed new life into the series after 25 seasons, and it challenged the houseguests in unprecedented ways.
Having the Big Brother contestants compete at the last minute before the live vote and eviction proved who really had what it took to win the game. Maybe this twist should be a permanent fixture on Big Brother.
We can’t wait for the Big Brother 27 premiere tonight. From the intriguing Hotel Mystère to the unique new houseguests to the Mystery Player, there’s so much to look forward to. With the return of the AI Arena, now more than ever, the Big Brother houseguests and fans should remember to “expect the unexpected.”
