Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves revealed that the upcoming season’s newly announced mystery houseguest will be a polarising figure. Big Brother season 27 has already revealed that this season has a mystery theme, and the house will be transformed into Hotel Mystère, a mysterious hotel. Premiere night will include a masked visitor, a secret accomplice, and a mystery houseguest.
In an interview with EW, Julie shared that the mystery houseguest is going to be quite shocking. She said, “What I can say is the mystery houseguest, when I was told who this person is, I had to expect the unexpected! I never expected that person.”
Julie added that she was thrilled about the mystery houseguest, and fans will have strong reactions to this person. She stated, “And I was very excited because, in my opinion, getting that person is epic. And that person is also very polarizing. So there’s going to be a strong reaction in both directions for this mystery houseguest.”
Julie also teased how the mystery houseguest’s accomplice and the masked visitor will affect the game. She revealed, “The accomplice this person’s going to have — they’re going to have responsibilities, and they may or may not be able to pull it off, and that will affect the game.”
Julie added that the masked visitor will be able to do much more than Big Brother 26‘s AI entity, Ainsley. She explained, “And the masked visitor — very disruptive, and on another level that is more far-reaching than Ainsley last year.”
Julie continued, “Ainsley could do only so much, but this masked visitor is going to wreak havoc in ways that we’ve never seen before. And I would say on a deeper level. Much deeper. It’s more three-dimensional.”
Big Brother 27‘s mystery houseguest is an intriguing twist. Julie’s statement that this person will be a polarizing figure means that they could be a returning houseguest who had mixed reactions from fans or even a contestant from another reality TV show, like when Survivor legend Cirie Fields joined Big Brother 25 as the final houseguest on premiere night. The mystery houseguest could even be a controversial celebrity.
